Re-knit! Beanies made from recycled wool
Last year we developed a planet friendly range of beanies (called re-knit) for those chilly winter months. And now that the weather will drop in temperature soon, they’re back in stock!
How it all began
The initial idea we had was to create our beanie range using organic wool. Organic wool is more planet friendly than standard wool but having the range made out of organic wool meant that new material had to be produced for us to make the range… So, we had a eureka moment and decided to make the re-knit range from recycled wool.
How we Re-knit
We buy up tonnes of jumpers and cardigans from charity shops like ‘help the aged’ (they have the best, thickest cardis ever). All the garments get bought back to peeler towers. Once the garments have been pulled apart (de-knitted), the wool is washed, re-rolled and transformed into one-size-fits all peeler re-knit beanies – available in Oversize and Regular size.
Hats off to Tina!
Tina (re-knit project leader) has been helping every step of the way and it’s down to her immense knitting knowledge that we’ve not only created a great range of beanies but scarves and fingerless gloves to.
So here’s to brisk, freezing days at the beach with thick winter wetsuits and toasty re-knit beanies!!

p.s. We’re also creating gloves and scarves as well, they’ll be on sale before christmas.
